Altered Secession Catalogues is a series of artist’s books begun in 2011 by Brian Kennon that are altered reproductions of the Secession catalogues/artist’s books by Christopher Wool (originally published in 2001) and Michael Krebber (originally published in 2005).
Altered Secession Catalogue — Christopher Wool (Polaroids 3) Combines the Wool and Krebber Altered Secession series by including some of Krebber’s polaroids at the end pages of the book, along with other polaroids found online, forming a triad. (2024-25)
Altered Secession Catalogue — Christopher Wool (Polaroids 2) Essentially a repeat of Polaroids 1, Polaroids 2 used the same basic Google image searches one year later to collect a new batch of found polaroids (2012)
Altered Secession Catalogue — Christopher Wool (Josh Smith) layers a collection of Josh Smith paintings on top of Wool’s polaroids. (2011)
Altered Secession Catalogue — Christopher Wool (Polaroids) takes the 2001 Wool catalog, which reproduces a series of polaroids Wool took of his own paintings, and swaps a selection of them for polaroids (mostly nudes) found online. (2011)
